Hey Friends,

It’s time for a Bike Week update and a close look at a couple of my vendors here at Main Street Station.

Well, we’re mid-way into Bike Week. Hmmm…does that mean Bike Week  half-over or half-way-to-go? I say we still have four full days to go and that leaves you plenty of time to come see Rockin’ Rod and Top Notch Coffee Bar.

Rockin’ Rod is along the east side of Main Street Station. You’ll see Rockin’ Rod long before you’re browsing his wares as his flags, banners, and T’s are like so much eye candy.

Once inside, the first thing you’ll see is Rod’s T-wall. Spanning the full length of Rod’s back wall are licenced Rockin’ t-shirts from AC/DC to Zappa all displayed in alphabetical order.

For Bike Week, when you purchase a t-shirt from Rockin’ Rod’s, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win this hookah. The drawing is on Sunday, March 7th at 1 PM. So drop by Rod’s for your chance to win!

Buy a t-shirt at Rockin' Rod's and get a chance to win this hookah

In addition to t-shirts, Rockin’ Rod also has

  • Hats
  • Flags
  • Belt Buckles
  • Wallets
  • Patches
  • Stickers
  • Necklaces
  • Lighters
  • Incense

Come to Rockin’ Rod for the “hard to find” designs and know, if it rocks…Rockin’ Rod has got it!

By now, everyone knows the evening’s have been a bit chilly and I found a great way to stave off the cold. Top Notch Coffee Bar, located between my front and back bar at Main Street Station, will serve you a hot chocolate, coffee, latte, espresso, or my favorite a French Vanilla Cappuccino.

Rich and Lisa from Deltona operate Top Notch Coffee Bar and are open 9 AM with hot coffee and pastries to get your day going.

Says Lisa, “Stop by Main Street Station for a double espresso with a shot of Sambuca for the ultimate coffee experience, and remember…you can sleep when you’re dead”.

Hey everyone! Bike Week’s here and it arrived with a roar! Main Street is lined with bikes and people celebrating the 2nd largest biker rally in America!

Day one was off with a bang when a body-painted party-goer made her way down Main Street coming right through Main Street Station. Ever vigilant, law enforcment took an interest in her as did every other living, breathing male on Main Street.

Kudos to our on-the-spot photographer for snagging this photo of the offending boobs.

One of our vendors at Main Street Station is Johnny Kabobs. They have some of the best kabobs I have ever tasted. If you make it to Bike Week this year, you must stop by their booth and try some for yourself. While you’re there, be sure to sample their “Gator Salsa” as it is to die for! ;-)

Johnny Kabobs motto is “Rubbin’ It Raw” and they have a unique way of illustrating their message. Here we see two of Johnny’s crew employing their unique style of advertising.

Some of you may have heard of The Butterfly Effect. It’s a theory that says some things are so complicated, that the smallest of changes can have unexpected results. Well here at Main Street Station we have something new called The Pretzel Effect.

One of our vendors the Pretzel Brothers specializing in New York City Pretzels went mobile with their electric warmer so more of our guests could enjoy a hot pretzel on an unseasonably cold day. The warmer moved from place-to-place around Main Street Station until it was plugged into the one outlet that just could not handle anything more. Suddenly, the whole Station was plunged into darkness and the crowd gasped and cheered raising their beers in salute.

As quickly as we could, my crew found the misbehaving breaker and set it straight. We never would have found the overloaded circuit had it not been for The Pretzel Effect.

Be sure to stop by and try the Pretzel Brother’s New York City Pretzels!

Until next time,

Ms. Tank

Don’t let this rainy weather keep you couped up in your house feeling like dooms day has hit Daytona Beach! Main Street Station has heat. I know we are an outside venue, but when we close the garage doors (although we looked closed) we have HEAT! The bar is open everyday till Bike Week. So don’t hesitate to stop in for a drink and the feel of a warm cozy bar

If you weren’t on Main Street this Sunday, then you missed out on some amazing events! When I  arrived on my new motorcycle (see my new photo on main page on website), I was amazingly surprised to see the Tim Dugger country band on my property (www.TimDugger.com). They played for a few hours! We are so lucky to have them visit us! Tim Dugger is a talent not to be missed if you enjoy a strong county voice and performer.

Originally from Roanoke, Alabama. They know how to travel to the top of the charts in comfort. As you can see they have a nice rig to play all over the southeast coast

Melissa struts her new Tim Dugger shirt feeling excited about the opportunity to have Tim sign her shirt. We were all moving and grooving to his original, heart moving voice. What an honor for him to visit us and we hope that you all appreciated his energy as he shared his young talent with us!

We hope you will keep posted on my music schedule here at The Main Street Station. We love to have new bands visit us and entertain us throughout the year.

Howdy guys & gals,

Ms Tank here to introduce you to some of my long lost family. “Gulf”, my cousin, was spotted at the annual Mount Dora Renningers Antique Show in November (www.renningers.com). I was so happy to see he hasn’t aged a bit over the years. In fact, he is looking mighty handsome here. Wouldn’t you agree? He takes life…”one mile at a time”

Over the long weekend we sighted a few of my extended family members. Here is a photo of Rebel Oil Gas located in Nevada since 1952. He is a tad younger than I am but nonetheless a growing part of my family. I was so happy to visit with family and friends.

I was excited to share with ya”ll a few of my family members. I am hoping more will come visit soon!

Hope to see everyone soon at the Main Street Station. We have been having a lot of rain down here, but it doesn’t stop us. We are still entertaining as usual. Our music, drinks & atmoshphere are sure to give you a new edge on life. See you folks soon!

Hello fellow enthusiasts,

One of my full time jobs at Main Street Station is making sure that we have the beer and liqour for our patrons and visitors. Its a fun job and I enjoy ordering all the latest and best, but also sticking to the tradional medlies. I worked out a deal to provide you cool cats with $1 Jim Beam shots for our new night on Thursday called “Beam me up Scotty”. I’m sure we can all think of places where we want to go in a hurry when we feel there is no intelligent life down here, so I’m calling the night after the phrase from Star Trek when Captain Kirk says, “Beam me up, Mr Scott”…. Jim Beam is one of the world’s finest Bourbons made in the USA. To learn more about Bourbon go to the website…http://www.jimbeam.com/aboutbourbon.aspx

Don’t miss our new night! When we get enough people coming out, I can bring in a band and we can rock the night away.

Hey Friends,

It’s the one-and-only Ms. Tank here to tell you about the Halloween costume party we had here Saturday night.

It seems Halloween 2009 saw a bit of hell-raisin’ here at the Station.

Push rocked the night and kept the dance floor jumping.

Our friends showed up in great costumes…

And we were visited by a pair of ghouls (some say they came from the cemetary across the street) that took home the $100 prize for best costume.

Hello Friends,

It’s Monday morning and Biketoberfest 2009 is behind us but what a weekend it was down here on Main Street, Daytona Beach.

Let’s start by recapping old news. In my last post, I commented on the problem our neighbors had with their inflatable Coors bottle. By Friday morning the bottle stood tall and proud as seen in this new photo:

Coors_Inflatable_02

…but not long afterward it was back to this….

They have our sympathies – it’s a bitch when you can’t keep it up!

Recently, we hired Eugene Fraber Painting to paint and refinish the front and side of the old station. He has almost completed the work and done a fabulous job. We wanted to reflect the historic look of the garage style station I have seen throughout the early 40s and 50s. I was disappointed when I saw that someone has already defaced the outside of the new paint work on the front of the building. Writing on the outside of the building is not permitted and your work will be painted over. Please only write on the inside of the building. Overall, Eugene was professional and timely in his work. He is in high demand so we were lucky to have him come out and help us renovate the place. I try as much as I can to give work to the local patrons of the bar. So please put your business cards in the bucket or give them to your bartenders. We are happy to help you when we can! You must come out to see what we are working on; our projects are countless. We hope we can always keep you coming by to see us grow!
